Job summary

MSD Malaysia is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Specialist for a state‑of‑the‑art Dunboyne, Co. Meath facility. You will design, implement and support Emerson DeltaV DCS across multiple process areas, ensuring compliant and reliable system performance.

The role requires 5+ years of hands‑on DeltaV experience in GMP settings, cross‑functional collaboration, and a drive for continuous improvement. Hybrid work arrangements are supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Automation, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on automation engineering experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS in GMP‑regulated manufacturing.
• Experience in Tech Transfer, Process Design, and commissioning/qualification.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical System Owner for the Emerson DeltaV DCS across Upstream, Downstream, Solution Prep, and utilities.
• Develop, debug, and optimize DeltaV code and control strategies for stability.
• Lead engineering assessments and support validation runs for NPIs and tech transfers.
• Lead complex RCA, deviation investigations, and troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, and equipment control systems.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and audit readiness; participate in inspections.
• Own change control assessments, maintenance scheduling, and SDLC documentation.
• Identify and implement digital, paperless manufacturing solutions.
