Job summary
MSD in Dunboyne, Co Meath, is seeking a Manufacturing Automation Specialist to lead Emerson DeltaV DCS design, implementation, and support across Upstream, Downstream, solution prep, and utilities. You will drive system reliability, participate in technology transfers, and partner with Siemens OEM Automation and PAS-X MES to deliver NPIs.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Automation, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on automation engineering experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS in GMP manufacturing.
- Experience in Tech Transfer, Process Design, and commissioning/qualification.
- Expertise in ISA S88/S95, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, CSV, and SDLC.
- Experience with automation change control and deviation management.
Responsibilities
- System Ownership Act as the technical System Owner for the Emerson DeltaV DCS process automation equipment supporting Upstream, Downstream, Solution Prep, and utility areas.
- Code Optimization Develop, debug, and optimize DeltaV code and control strategies to maximize software and hardware stability.
- Tech Transfer & NPIs Lead engineering assessments, configure automation system modifications, and support validation runs for NPIs.
- Issue Resolution Lead complex root cause analysis, deviation investigations, and troubleshooting of electrical, instrumentation, and equipment control systems.
- Compliance & Audits Maintain systems in a state of regulatory compliance and audit-readiness; participate in inspections.
- Lifecycle Management Own change control assessments, maintenance scheduling, and SDLC documentation.
- Digital Innovation Identify, design, and implement digital, paperless manufacturing solutions.
- Operational Excellence Write engineering specs, SOPs, and participate in GEMBAs and Go-Sees.
