Job summary

Excel Recruitment is seeking a Deli Assistant for a busy convenience store in Enniscorthy, Wexford. You will prepare and serve hot and cold deli items, delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.

The role requires knowledge of HACCP and food safety, with flexibility to work early mornings and weekends. You’ll collaborate with the Deli Manager and store team to maintain product quality and presentation.

Qualifications

• Experience in deli, fresh food counter, café or similar food service environment is desirable.
• Strong customer service mindset and friendly demeanor.
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety and hygiene procedures is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold deli products to a consistently high standard.
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service throughout the deli department.
• Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented in line with company standards.
• Maintain excellent product availability and ensure the deli counter is well stocked and attractively presented.
• Follow correct stock rotation procedures and help minimise food waste.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and organising fresh food deliveries.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the deli and food preparation areas.
• Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
• Work closely with the Deli Manager and wider store team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

Salary: EUR15 - EUR16 per hour

Excel Recruitment is currently recruiting a Deli Assistant for our client’s busy convenience store in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fresh food professional to join a friendly and fast-paced retail environment, preparing and serving high-quality fresh food while delivering excellent customer service.

• Confident preparing and serving both hot and cold food products
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Positive and reliable attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings and weekends when required
