Job summary

Centra in Ballina is seeking a friendly deli assistant to help prepare high-quality hot and cold deli products and serve customers with a smiles. You will make sandwiches, portion hot foods, slice meats, and ensure displays are neat and appealing throughout the day.

Ideal candidates have customer service experience and a passion for food. HACCP training is desirable but not essential; you will work as part of a team in a fast-paced store, sharing knowledge and recommendations with shoppers.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or retail is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders across all fresh food areas: sandwiches, rolls, hot foods, and sliced meats.
• Cook, prepare, and display foods sold throughout the day.
• Ensure counter displays across all fresh food departments are neat and to high standards.
• Share knowledge, recipes and recommendations with customers.
• Deal with customer queries efficiently, professionally, and in line with store policy.

Main purpose of the role:
Responsible for the preparation of high quality hot and cold deli products and for ensuring customer satisfaction is the number one priority.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• HACCP training is desirable but not necessary


• Previous customer service experience is an advantage


• The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, ability to multi task under pressure


• A passion for food and the ability to inspire shoppers.

• Prepare customer orders across all fresh food areas i.e. make sandwiches and rolls, dish up hot food and slice meats using the store`sportion control measures

• Demonstrate your passion for quality food by sharing knowledge, recipes and personal recommendations with customers


• Deal with all customer queries efficiently, professionally and in line with store policy.
