Job summary

SOS Kilkenny CLG is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to empower individuals through person-centred day activities across SOS Kilkenny Day Services. You will act as a key worker, facilitating plans, education and social opportunities while promoting independence and community participation.

Essential CORU registration and QQI Level 7/8 in Social Care or equivalent. Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly, based in Kilkenny, with ongoing professional development and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • CORU registration as a Social Care Worker is essential.
  • QQI Level 7/8 in Social Care or related discipline (or equivalent leading to CORU registration).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support in line with individual goals and abilities.
  • Act as a key worker, supporting development and review of individual plans.
  • Deliver meaningful day service activities, including education, training and social opportunities.
  • Promote independence, autonomy and skill development, supporting informed choices.
  • Encourage community participation and access to new experiences.
  • Communicate effectively in a manner accessible to individuals.
  • Support practical tasks associated with day programmes and activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure high-quality support.
  • Contribute to safety and wellbeing, following policies and risk management.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete reports as required.
  • Participate in training and continuous learning.
  • Promote a safe and respectful environment and safeguarding.
