Job summary

Waterford Intellectual Disability Association is seeking an Instructor to join their Day Services team in Waterford. This permanent role is on site, 30 hours per week, with an annual salary range of €35,932 to €51,887.

Applicants should have QQI Level 5 in Health Care/Social Care or equivalent, and at least 2 years' experience with intellectual disabilities. The role involves developing programmes, supervising participants, and liaising with families and MDT.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Health Care/Social Care or equivalent required.
• 2+ years experience working with people with intellectual disabilities.
• Ability to manage behaviours that challenge and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement programmes suitable to service users' needs and abilities.
• Provide supervision, instruction and guidance to service users.
• Ensure programme development, review and evaluation based on service users' wishes.
• Identify and facilitate community-based activities for service users.
• Liaise with parents, advocates and MDT as appropriate.
• Complete risk assessments and relevant documentation.
