Job summary

GemPool Recruitment is seeking an ambitious IT Technician to join a large Data Centre across south, west and north Dublin. In this role you will work from a ticketing system to replace components and troubleshoot servers, ensuring minimal downtime.

Candidates should have strong IT hardware knowledge, ideally with servers, and the ability to disassemble and replace components. Relevant certificates such as CompTIA A+, Certs ideal, plus networking understanding.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of IT hardware, ideally with servers.
• Ability to take apart a PC and replace components.
• Experience with IT hardware or CompTIA Network+ certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware maintenance and repair tasks for servers, storage devices, and networking equipment.
• Respond promptly to hardware failures and emergencies, troubleshoot issues, and minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and health checks for optimal performance.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and hardware inventory.
• Collaborate with other teams, vendors, and suppliers to coordinate maintenance schedules and communicate effectively.

We are looking to add an ambitious and capable IT Technician to join our team in a large Data Centre in locations around South, West & North Dublin.

For the role, your primary responsibility will be working from a ticketing system replacing components and troubleshooting servers.

We are looking to hear from people with the below skillset: A strong understanding of IT hardware, ideally with servers, but the ability to take apart a PC and replace components with ease.

• CompTIA or IT Hardware certificates/Qualifications are ideal.
• Strong understanding of Networks.
• Have a strong work ethic and take direction well.
• Have gained around a year's experience working with IT Hardware (Hardware Support, PC Repair Hardware replacement, etc) or have recently qualified in CompTIA Network Plus.
• You will have a strong interest in IT with a particular interest in Hardware. You will be fixing servers day in day out in a sometimes very challenging environment.
• You should have a lot of passion for IT Hardware.
