Job summary

Aramark Ireland is seeking a skilled Data Centre Technician to join a high-performing team on one of Ireland’s most exciting client sites. You will install, maintain and certify optical infrastructure, monitor systems, and support safety and reporting, ensuring the digital world runs smoothly.

The role requires hands-on experience in mission-critical environments and strong documentation skills. You will collaborate with engineers and IT teams, cover shift absences, and balance routine tasks

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ data centre technician or electrician experience.
• Experience in mission-critical environments (UPS, BMS, chillers, gensets).
• Proficient with optical hardware installation and fibre testing/certification.
• Strong health & safety awareness.
• Clear communicator with strong documentation skills.
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve day-to-day technical tickets to meet SLAs.
• Install, maintain, and certify optical infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and respond to faults or outages.
• Operate and isolate electrical, cooling, fire, and sprinkler systems.
• Support capacity planning with engineers and IT teams.
• Cover holiday, training, and sickness absences for shift team.
• Deliver incident reports and maintenance logs with precision.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and QA procedures.
• Ensure external contractors meet client requirements.
• Take ownership of documentation and infrastructure mapping.
• Balance routine tasks with ad hoc project work.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and resolve day‑to‑day technical tickets to meet client KPIs and service‑level agreements
• Install, maintain, and certify optical infrastructure (servers, networking equipment, fibre patching, etc.)
• Monitor system performance and quickly respond to faults or outages
• Operate and isolate Electrical, Cooling, Fire, and Sprinkler systems (where authorised)
• Support capacity planning and daily ops in tandem with engineers and IT teams
• Cover holiday, training, and sickness absences for shift team members
• Deliver condition assessments, incident reports, and maintenance logs with precision
• Maintain full compliance with health & safety, quality assurance, and client procedures
• Ensure consistent performance from external contractors and follow through on reports
• Take ownership of documentation and infrastructure mapping updates
• Seamlessly balance routine tasks with ad hoc project work

What You’ll Bring

• Ideally 2+ years’ as a Data Centre Technician, Electrician
• Experience in mission‑critical environments (UPS, BMS, chillers, gensets, electrical testing)
• Proficiency in optical hardware installation and fibre testing/certification
• Strong awareness of maintenance‑related health & safety requirements
• Clear communicator—both verbal and written—with strong documentation skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
