Job summary

Vodafone Ireland is seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Manager to lead our enterprise data warehouse capability. You will ensure trusted, governed and high‑performing data platforms deliver measurable outcomes across the business, modernising the DWH estate and enabling access to high‑quality data.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in enterprise data warehouse operations, platform ownership or data engineering within a business-critical environment.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise DWH platforms, cloud data services, ETL/ELT pipelines, BI enablement, semantic layers and workload optimisation, including Teradata and GCP BigQuery.
• Experience managing service reliability, incidents, releases, access controls, audit actions, operational KPIs and cloud FinOps, including forecasting, budget governance and cost optimisation.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, catalogue, lineage, GDPR, cyber security, compliance and trusted AI analytics datasets.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, prioritisation and problem solving, able to explain technical trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data, Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own performance, availability, resilience, security and lifecycle management of the enterprise data warehouse estate, including Teradata and GCP BigQuery.
• Lead transition from legacy warehouse models to modern cloud data platforms, managing migration risk, cost and operational readiness.
• Partner with Data Governance to ensure data assets have clear ownership, quality measures, metadata and lineage, complying with privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Drive operational excellence across DWH services with incident management, access reviews, release planning and observability.
• Act as senior DWH contact for stakeholders, translating complex topics into clear business language and prioritising demand.
• Enable governed, AI-ready datasets and identify opportunities to automate reporting and quality monitoring.
• Lead and develop the DWH team, set objectives, manage cloud costs and FinOps controls.
