Job summary

Celtic Careers is seeking a Data Network Installation & Support Technician to join a client team in Ireland. You will install, configure and troubleshoot broadband, routers, switches, firewalls and Wi-Fi on customer sites, ensuring high-quality network installations.

Ideal candidates have basic IP routing, Ethernet knowledge, familiarity with PCs and Office, and a proactive, reliable approach. Driving licence and willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience or aptitude in telecommunications, IT or data networking.
• Basic knowledge of IP routing, Ethernet and network equipment.
• Familiarity with PCs, operating systems and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of network cabling and low‑voltage systems.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls and Wi‑Fi equipment.
• Install, terminate and test data cabling, including Cat5e+ and fibre.
• Test and troubleshoot broadband, telephone and network connections.
• Diagnose and resolve network and cabling faults.
• Document network installations, equipment and cabling.
• Provide remote monitoring and technical support.
• Work with colleagues and customers to deliver high-quality installations.

Requirements:

• Experience or an aptitude in telecommunications, IT or data networking.
• Basic knowledge of IP routing, Ethernet and network equipment.
• Familiarity with PCs, operating systems and Microsoft Office.
• Basic understanding of network cabling and low‑voltage systems.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently and on customer sites.
• Practical, reliable, detail‑oriented and willing to learn.
• Able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• CCNA, telecommunications, electrical, construction or cabling experience is an advantage.
• Full, valid driving licence required.
