Job summary

Fruition Group in Ireland is seeking an Engineering Team Lead to head the data engineering function, combining technical leadership with people management. Based in Westmeath, you will deliver scalable, secure data solutions and set engineering standards across the data platform.

You will mentor a team of Data Engineers, oversee Microsoft Fabric deployments, integrate data sources, and collaborate with analytics and BI teams to enable trusted insights.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, SQL, data warehousing, and systems integration.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern cloud data platforms.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, governance, data quality, and business intelligence concepts.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, or similar programming languages.
• Experience leading technical projects and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Engineers, promoting best practices and technical excellence.
• Define engineering standards, governance, and solution design principles across the data platform.
• Oversee the development and optimisation of the Microsoft Fabric environment, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Lead the integration of new data sources and the design of enterprise data models to support reporting and analytics.
• Develop reusable frameworks, monitoring, and controls to improve operational efficiency and data quality.
• Work closely with analytics, reporting, and business teams to deliver trusted, accessible data solutions.
• Provide technical guidance throughout project delivery, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
• Maintain key technical documentation, including architecture, data models, and integration specifications.
