Job summary

K2 STRATEGIC is seeking a Technical Specialist to provide specialist technical support, training, and oversight within a live critical data centre environment in Ireland. You will ensure 24/7/365 operational coverage, participate in emergency response, and coordinate maintenance across facilities.

You will also lead contractor oversight, manage RAMS and permits, and deliver staff training with scenario-based drills, while maintaining robust documentation and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrician or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with UPS systems, MV/LV distribution, standby generators, and SCADA/BMS.
• Flexibility in working patterns to support business rhythms.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Clear communication under pressure with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuous uptime of critical systems through hands-on technical support and proactive supervision.
• Lead scheduled and reactive maintenance activities; ensure full compliance via the DFM platform.
• Coordinate ongoing maintenance and activities within the Data Centre for facilities; prioritize with operations teams.
• Review and approve subcontractor RAMS; manage work permits.
• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day operations and live activities across the facility.
• Supervise contractors and vendors; ensure health & safety and site procedures.
• Deliver technical training to site staff and lead readiness drills.
• Assist in creating/reviewing SOPs, EOPs, and MOPs; ensure team involvement in drills.
• Maintain records of shift activity, work orders, and system performance via DFM/logs.
• Promote health and safety compliance; address safety concerns.
• Support emergency response and commissioning works when required.
