Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs within a Data Center operation. You will handle inspections, monitor BMS alarms, and work with vendors to uphold safety, quality and regulatory standards.

The role involves routine maintenance, handling environmental controls, and documenting all tasks to ensure reliable facility operations. Shift work may be required.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline with 1–2 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
• Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the role.
• Ability to present information clearly to internal teams and clients.
• Follow basic work routines and standards in daily tasks.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; proficient with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of mechanical and engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions support a safe work environment.
• React to BMS alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDUs and utilities and log results.
• Record maintenance activities and follow established procedures and safety rules.
