Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs within a data center environment. You will inspect mechanical and engineering systems, monitor environmental conditions and respond to BMS alarms to ensure uptime.

You will collaborate with third-party vendors, conduct routine quality checks, and maintain comprehensive maintenance records while following safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline with apprenticeship or equivalent, 1–2 years of job-related experience.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role and work shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to present information clearly to internal departments, clients, management and/or colleagues.
• Basic math skills and working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and engineering systems and equipment.
• React to Building Management System alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Work with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes, procedures, and laws.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities; maintain maintenance records.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance according to established procedures.
• Ensure safety standards and regulatory requirements are met; perform routine quality checks.
