Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs within a data center environment. You will work under supervision to inspect mechanical and electrical systems, respond to alarms, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The role involves collaboration with third-party vendors, monitoring UPS and PDU readings, and maintaining accurate maintenance records. Shift work including weekends may be required.

Qualifications

  • Technical apprenticeship or diploma with 1–2 years of related experience.
  • Able to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physically capable to meet role requirements.
  • Able to present information clearly to internal teams and clients.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on data center equipment.
  • Monitor environmental conditions to maintain safe work environment.
  • Respond to Building Management System alarms and emergencies.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and laws.
  • Review subcontractor performance against contractual requirements.
  • Document maintenance actions and ensure quality records.
  • Take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and complete required training.
  • Use established procedures to solve routine problems under supervision.
