Job summary

Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Manager, Chief Engineer to ensure uninterrupted operation of a large Tier III data center campus in Ireland. You will lead a team of electrical and mechanical specialists and technicians, overseeing maintenance, testing, and start‑up activities onsite.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and coordinating with Engineering, you will implement SOPs/MOPs, manage budgets, safety programs, and vendor work, with 24/7 on‑call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on maintenance/repair in mission‑critical facilities.
• At least 2 years of leadership/management experience.
• Strong understanding of 2N data center infrastructure, systems, operations and emergency responses.
• Experience creating/updating MOP/EOP/SOPs for critical facilities equipment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise 24/7/365 operation of facility equipment and systems.
• Aim for zero downtime through reliable system performance.
• Lead engineering analysis and energy efficiency recommendations for customers.
• Manage performance appraisals, training plans, and mentoring for staff.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs for electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with MOPs, safety regulations, and EPA/local guidelines.
