Job summary

BearingPoint Ireland is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our growing Data & AI practice. You will lead end‑to‑end data architecture design across complex client environments, shaping robust architectures for analytics, governance, and data platforms.

In this client‑facing role, you will collaborate with stakeholders, delivery teams and platform specialists to ensure scalable, secure data solutions and strong delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Data Architect in client‑facing environments.
  • Strong data architecture and modelling across operational, analytical, and reporting domains.
  • Experience designing data warehouses, lakehouses, data marts and semantic layers.
  • Hands‑on data integration tooling (ADF/SSIS/Kafka/Talend).
  • Strong SQL and scripting skills for data delivery.
  • Experience across on‑prem, hybrid and cloud environments.
  • Solid data governance, quality and security understanding.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, documentation, and workshops.
  • Experience with modern data platforms (Fabric/Databricks/Snowflake).
  • Experience supporting analytics layers (Power BI).
  • Familiarity with AI‑ready data designs and data products.
  • Knowledge of Agile/DevOps for data delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design of enterprise and solution‑level data architectures for analytics and AI.
  • Translate requirements into logical/physical data designs and patterns.
  • Lead data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
  • Define and govern data integration and ETL/ELT patterns (batch/near‑real/ event‑driven).
  • Lead data migration initiatives including mappings, quality, cutover.
  • Embed governance, metadata, lineage, and security into architecture.
  • Produce and own architecture artefacts: reference architectures, standards, design docs.
  • Provide technical leadership across delivery teams and design decisions.
  • Work within Agile/hybrid delivery models and dependencies.
  • Support proposal development and solution shaping for clients.
  • Contribute to pre‑sales and client positioning with accelerators.

Data Architect

BearingPoint Ireland has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Architect to join our growing Data & AI practice. This role focuses on end‑to‑end data architecture design and delivery across complex client environments, spanning business requirements, data modelling, integration, migration, governance, and modern data platforms.

The Data Architect plays a client‑facing, delivery‑led role, working closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and platform specialists to shape robust, scalable, and analytics‑ready data architectures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design of enterprise and solution‑level data architectures aligned to business use cases, reporting, analytics, and AI requirements
  • Translate business requirements into clear logical and physical data designs, architecture patterns, and implementation specifications
  • Lead data modelling activities, including conceptual, logical, and physical models; relational and dimensional modelling (facts, dimensions, SCDs)
  • Define and govern data integration and ETL/ELT patterns, including batch, near‑real‑time, and event‑driven approaches
  • Lead data migration initiatives, including source‑to‑target mappings, data quality assessment, reconciliation, and cutover planning
  • Embed data quality, metadata, lineage, governance, and security considerations into architecture by design
  • Produce and own architecture artefacts including reference architectures, standards, HLDs/LLDs, and design documentation
  • Provide technical leadership across delivery teams, supporting build activities and design decisions
  • Work effectively within Agile and hybrid delivery models, understanding delivery constraints and dependencies
  • Support proposal development, solution shaping, and the creation of reusable architectural assets and accelerators
  • Contribute to pre‑sales and positioning offerings with prospective clients
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Data Architect in complex, client‑facing environments
  • Strong data architecture and data modelling expertise, across operational, analytical, and reporting use cases
  • Proven experience designing data warehouses, lakehouse architectures, data marts, and semantic layers
  • Hands‑on experience with data integration tooling (e.g. ADF, SSIS, Kafka, Talend or equivalent)
  • Strong SQL skills and experience using scripting/automation to support data delivery
  • Experience designing data solutions across on‑premise, hybrid, and cloud‑based environments
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and security concepts within regulated environments
  • Strong communication skills, including stakeholder engagement, documentation, and workshop facilitation
  • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, or similar
  • Experience supporting Power BI or analytics layers as part of enterprise data architectures
  • Familiarity with AI‑and analytics‑ready data designs (feature‑ready data, curated layers, data products)
  • Knowledge of modern software and data delivery practices (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD for data)
Desirable Experience
  • Experience in exploring innovative data and AI‑enabled approaches to enhance data platform design, delivery efficiency, and decision‑making.
  • Experience leading or mentoring data engineers and junior architects
