Job summary

Sterling Engineering Ltd - Ireland & Europe, Shannon, Ireland, seeks a hands-on IT & Cyber Security Engineer to join a large multinational IT team focused on security excellence and operational delivery.

You will own and drive the organisation's security accreditation and certification programme, advancing security maturity toward recognised industry standards. A strong emphasis on robust security controls and governance will define this role.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in an IT role with cybersecurity as a primary focus.
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Active Directory, and VMware / vCentre
• Familiarity with security audit processes, evidence requirements, and technical testing expectations
• Experience owning and maintaining security policies and procedures
• Cyber security certifications

Responsibilities

• Enhance security maturity aligned with ISO 27001 and recognised industry frameworks
• Secure configuration of servers, endpoints, and cloud services
• Support external assessors during audits, penetration testing, and verification activities
• Prepare and maintain documentation, evidence, and artefacts required for security audits and technical assurance activities
