Job summary

BnM is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst (Operations & Risk) to join the IT team in Newbridge. The role focuses on monitoring, threat detection, incident response and risk management across IT and OT environments.

You will support security operations, vulnerability management and security assurance, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated promptly while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements including ISO 27001 and NIS2.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cyber security or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum five years' experience with at least three years in cyber security.
  • Desirable certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AZ-500, SC-200, CEH.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor technology environments using security tooling to identify threats and incidents.
  • Support incident response and vulnerability management with defined SLAs.
  • Engage with stakeholders to drive policy compliance and secure behaviours.
  • Contribute to security controls improvement using frameworks like ISO 27001 and NIS2.

The Role

BnM is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst (Operations & Risk) to join the IT team in Newbridge. Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Cyber Security function by helping to protect BnM’s IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments through effective monitoring, threat detection, incident response and risk management.

The Role

BnM is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst (Operations & Risk) to join the IT team in Newbridge. Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Cyber Security function by helping to protect BnM’s IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments through effective monitoring, threat detection, incident response and risk management.

This cybersecurity role will support security operations, vulnerability management and security assurance activities across the organisation, ensuring risks are identified, tracked and mitigated in a timely manner. Success in the role will be measured by the early detection and response to security events, the effective management of cyber risks, and demonstrable compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, including ISO 27001 and NIS2. The role will contribute to strengthening cyber resilience across BnM’s critical business operations.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Monitor organisational technology environments using security tooling to identify, triage, and elevate potential cybersecurity threats and incidents.
  • Support the promotion of a strong cybersecurity culture by engaging with employees and stakeholders to reinforce secure behaviours and drive policy compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement of cybersecurity controls, processes and tooling by applying lessons from threats, incidents, audits, risk assessments and recognised frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF and NIS2.
  • Support incident response and vulnerability management processes, ensuring security issues are investigated, tracked, and remediated in line with defined SLAs.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of cyber risk registers and support security assurance activities, including audits, control testing, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide security input into supplier assessments and technology projects to ensure cybersecurity requirements are embedded into solutions and third-party services.

  • Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Qualification in OT Cyber Security is an advantage. Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, AZ-500, SC-200, CEH or equivalent are desirable. Minimum of five years' experience, including at least three years in a dedicated Cyber Security role.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to cybersecurity processes, including incident response, vulnerability management or risk management, with accountability for tracking actions through to completion. Experience working with cross-functional teams and engaging with stakeholders to support issue resolution, elevate risks and ensure compliance with security requirements. Membership of a recognised professional body, such as ISACA, ISC2 or BCS, is desirable.
  • Experience with security monitoring and response tools, including SIEM or SOC tooling, vulnerability management tools and Microsoft security technologies such as Defender and Azure security tooling. Practical experience in security monitoring, alert triage and incident response within a SOC or equivalent operational setting. Experience supporting vulnerability management processes, including the identification, tracking and remediation of security weaknesses. Familiarity with threat detection techniques, threat intelligence and basic threat hunting activities.
  • Familiarity with securing OT networks, including network segmentation, asset visibility and monitoring for anomalous activity across IT/OT boundaries. Understanding of endpoint protection, detection and response, and general security tooling used to prevent and detect cyber threats. Experience supporting the implementation and monitoring of cybersecurity controls within OT/industrial environments. Demonstrated understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards, including ISO 27001 and NIS2, with familiarity in applying organisational security policies and working within established control environments.
