Job description

We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join our leading global fintech client (Non-consultancy)

This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who wants to broaden their experience across cloud security, cyber risk, security operations, vulnerability management, identity and access management, and technology transformation.

Working closely with internal technology teams, business stakeholders and external service providers, you will play an important role in protecting critical information and technology assets while helping ensure that new systems, applications and technology initiatives are delivered securely.

The role offers a strong mix of hands-on security analysis, risk assessment, security monitoring and stakeholder engagement, making it particularly well suited to someone looking to take the next step in their cyber security career.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess the organisation's overall security posture, helping to protect information, systems and technology assets in line with established security policies, standards and controls.
  • Conduct security risk assessments across new applications, systems, cloud services and technology change initiatives, identifying security risks and recommending practical mitigation measures.
  • Support day-to-day security monitoring and incident response, including the assessment of security alerts, initial investigation, triage, escalation and coordination of remediation activities.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, cloud, application and technology teams to embed appropriate security requirements and controls throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Engage with third‑party technology and service providers to assess security risks, review controls and ensure security requirements are appropriately addressed.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the organisation's information security policies, standards, procedures and control framework.
  • Support vulnerability management, including reviewing identified vulnerabilities, assessing associated risk, prioritising remediation and tracking issues through to resolution.
  • Assist with identity and access security, including controls relating to multi‑factor authentication, conditional access, privileged access and role‑based access.
  • Contribute to cyber security awareness initiatives, helping employees understand emerging threats, security responsibilities and good security practices.
  • Participate in security assurance activities across technology projects, cloud services and external suppliers.
  • Maintain high‑quality security documentation, risk records, control evidence and remediation tracking to support governance, audit and compliance requirements.
  • Keep up to date with emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and security technologies, helping identify opportunities to strengthen the organisation's security capabilities.
Experience & Skills:

We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in cyber or information security who is keen to continue developing their technical and risk expertise.

Ideally, you will have:

  • 2+ years' experience in cyber security, information security, technology risk, security operations or a closely related technical role.
  • A good understanding of cloud security principles, including secure configuration, cloud security posture management and shared responsibility models.
  • Experience or familiarity with Microsoft security environments, covering cloud, identity, endpoints and security monitoring.
  • A good understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, including MFA, Conditional Access, privileged access and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Knowledge of security monitoring, logging, alert analysis and incident response processes.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management, including vulnerability assessment, remediation tracking and risk‑based prioritisation.
  • A sound understanding of networking, infrastructure and common enterprise technology environments.
  • Knowledge of cyber security governance, data protection and recognised security control frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess technical security risks and recommend proportionate, practical controls.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to discuss security risks with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • The ability to manage priorities independently while working effectively as part of a specialist security function.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience maintaining security documentation, risk records, evidence and remediation plans.

Experience across all of the following is not required, but exposure to any of these areas would be advantageous:

  • Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 security.
  • Microsoft Entra ID, Defender, Sentinel and Intune.
  • Security frameworks and standards including ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls and SOC 2.
  • GDPR, data protection and wider information security compliance requirements.
  • Secure solution design, security architecture reviews or threat modelling.
  • Security assessments of external technology providers and cloud/SaaS services.
  • SIEM and security monitoring technologies.
  • Vulnerability scanning and remediation management tools.
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, SSCP, Microsoft Security certifications or relevant cloud certifications.

Most importantly, you will bring a genuine interest in cyber security, a proactive approach to learning and the ability to quickly develop your knowledge of new technologies, threats and security practices.

Education:
  • A degree or third‑level qualification in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT or another relevant technology discipline would be beneficial.
  • Candidates with strong relevant professional experience and/or recognised cyber security certifications will also be considered.
Why Apply?

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within an established Information Security function while gaining exposure to a broad range of enterprise cyber security activities.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Amazing benefits package which includes: 15% pension contribution, 20% EOY bonus(based on targets), free breakfast and lunch on site and free gym membership.
  • Work across cloud security, security operations, cyber risk, IAM, vulnerability management and technology transformation.
  • Gain hands‑on exposure to a modern Microsoft‑focused cloud and security environment.
  • Work alongside experienced security and technology professionals.
  • Contribute to the secure delivery of high‑profile technology initiatives.
  • Build experience across both technical security and cyber risk/governance.
  • Work with a variety of internal stakeholders and external technology partners.
  • Continue developing your professional security skills, knowledge and certifications.
  • Join a collaborative environment where security is an important part of the organisation's wider technology strategy.
The Opportunity

This position would suit a Cyber Security Analyst, Information Security Analyst, SOC Analyst or Technology Risk professional who has developed a solid grounding in security and is now looking for a role offering broader responsibility, greater exposure and continued career development.

You don't need to tick every box. If you have strong cyber security fundamentals, experience in several of the areas above and the motivation to continue developing your expertise, we would be interested in hearing from you.
