Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment in Ireland is seeking a Customs Clearance Operative to process all customs documentation for import and export shipments, ensuring full compliance and accuracy.

You will manage compliance, classification, and origin determination under Irish/EU and international regulations, and collaborate with internal teams, clients and brokers to resolve holds and questions while generating reliable reports.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of proven experience in freight forwarding or customs clearance.
• Excellent understanding of Irish/EU and international customs procedures.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in customs data input systems (e.g., Descartes, Thyme) and MS Excel.
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume documentation.

Responsibilities

• Process all customs documentation for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
• Manage compliance, classification and origin determination in line with Irish/EU and international regulations.
• Resolve shipment holds and queries by coordinating with internal teams, clients and customs brokers.
• Maintain and generate customs reports and data, ensuring integrity across management systems.
