Job summary

Force Recruitment and Outsourcing is seeking an experienced customs clearance professional to join its Dublin 18 Operations Team. The role focuses on preparing and processing customs documentation for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with Irish and EU requirements.

You will support HS/HTS classification, origin determination, and liaise with clients, brokers, and internal teams to resolve queries while maintaining accurate records and reporting.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years' experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, shipping or related environment.
• Good knowledge of Irish and EU customs procedures.
• Experience with import/export customs documentation.
• Understanding of HS codes, tariffs and origin.
• Experience with customs data-entry systems such as Descartes, Thyme or similar.

An established international freight forwarding company based in Dublin 18 is seeking an experienced professional to join its Operations Team, with a particular focus on customs clearance.

The successful candidate will work within a busy freight forwarding environment, supporting import and export shipments and ensuring customs documentation and processes are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs documentation for import and export shipments.
• Ensure shipments comply with relevant Irish, EU and international customs requirements.
• Assist with correct HS/HTS classification and origin determination.
• Liaise with clients, internal teams, customs brokers and other stakeholders to resolve customs queries and shipment holds.
• Maintain accurate customs records and data.
• Process customs information using relevant customs and freight-forwarding systems.
• Prepare and maintain customs-related reports.
• Support the wider Operations Team with day-to-day freight forwarding activities.

Requirements

• 2–3+ years' experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, shipping or a related environment.
• Good knowledge of Irish and EU customs procedures.
• Experience with import/export customs documentation.
• Understanding of HS codes, tariffs and origin.
• Experience with customs data-entry systems such as Descartes, Thyme or similar is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of documentation accurately.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
