Job summary

Aramark Ireland is seeking a friendly Retail Shop Assistant to join our Cork team. You will greet customers, help them find products, and process transactions at the POS with accuracy. You will stock shelves, maintain presentation, and support colleagues to ensure a smooth store operation and a positive shopping environment.

You will develop product knowledge, assist with opening/closing procedures, and adhere to health and safety guidelines while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Proven customer service experience in a retail or similar environment.
• Experience handling cash and operating point-of-sale systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and stock merchandise regularly.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products and making purchasing decisions.
• Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
• Handle cash, card payments, and other payment methods with accuracy and integrity.
• Stock shelves and displays with merchandise, ensuring products are organized and clearly priced.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal throughout your shift.
• Develop and demonstrate product knowledge to answer customer questions and provide recommendations.
• Support team members in achieving store goals and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Monitor inventory levels and report stock shortages to management.
• Follow company policies and procedures, including health and safety guidelines.
• Assist with store opening and closing procedures as assigned.
