Job summary

Wayflyer is seeking a senior leader to own two pillars of Credit Strategy: policies and underwriting frameworks. You will shape how we lend across segments, ensuring scalable, compliant processes that align with funding partners and business growth.

You will sit between Risk, Finance, Legal and Revenue to implement practical, data-driven policy decisions. This role requires 8–10+ years in credit risk, a strong risk mindset, and experience with evolving AI-enabled underwriting.

Qualifications

Ideal candidate has 8–10+ years in credit risk, policy design, or risk governance.

Responsibilities

Design, own, and continuously improve credit policies and frameworks across customer segments.
Turn risk appetite into measurable underwriting rules, portfolio limits and approval authorities.
Design frameworks for new products and markets within risk appetite; collaborate with product and compliance.
Coordinate between Risk, Finance, Legal and Revenue to ensure policy practicality and partner needs.
Use loss experience to keep policies current and present trade-offs to senior leadership.
Rebuild underwriting processes to reduce friction and automate where possible.
Develop standardized risk scorecards with Engineering and Data Science.
Incorporate new data sources and run vendor evaluations end-to-end.
Own the override taxonomy and feedback loop to sharpen policies.
Build policy architecture for increasingly automated underwriting, AI-enabled.
Use AI tools to generate underwriting memos and scenario analyses for validation.
