Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.
  • 3+ years copywriting or journalism experience.
  • Experience in financial services, life insurance, annuities and advanced or institutional markets is helpful but not required. The desire to learn all of these areas is required.
  • Proven track record of leading highly successful copy/editorial teams.
  • Conceptual ability in digital and offline channels.
  • Ability to differentiate between an idea and an execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Detail oriented, sound writing/editorial judgment.
  • Clear, concise, and confident verbal communication skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a team-oriented, collaborative spirit.
  • Experience with AI as part of the regular creative process.
  • Portfolio demonstrating skills in all media.

Responsibilities

  • Brainstorm, strategize, and create content that promotes products and services for Prudential.
  • Consult with cross-functional team members and creative leaders to generate great copy.
  • Establish and enforce brand, messaging, and voice; ensure material aligns with goals.
  • Present and champion work to stakeholders through completion, and incorporate learnings.
  • Interview business partners, senior executives, subject matter experts to gather information.
  • Stay current on marketing communications trends in and out of the industry.
  • Understand Prudential’s institutional audiences and how to best communicate with them.
  • Meet or exceed deadlines and deliverables.

We’re looking for a dynamic, passionate, editor/copywriter who wants the opportunity to tell and hone great stories for one of the most respected, purpose-driven brands in the world—Prudential.The best candidate will have the demonstrated ability to lead a team of editors and proofreaders who will be tasked with transforming AI-generated copy into simple, concise, compelling copy that inspires consumer audiences to take action. This position will be part of the USB (US Businesses) Creative Team, reporting to the head of creative for the US Businesses.This person must excel at crafting marketing copy for multiple audiences across all media. While prior financial services experience is not required, the desire to learn complex financial products is. This position supports a fast-paced organization and so the ability to manage complex, multi-step tasks is key to success. Finally, the ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and a keen ability to inspire creative thinking.The USB Creative Team is a highly collaborative environment where fast, great work is a mandatory. To be successful, this leader must be relentless about asking questions and working with requesters and their team to continually elevate the work. The USB Creative Team is fully aligned to helping the US Businesses achieve their goals.
