Job summary

European Tech Recruit are partnering with a leading semiconductor company in Cork, Ireland, seeking a CPU Design Verification Engineer to join the team and drive verification efforts for complex CPU blocks. The role focuses on developing scalable verification environments, test plans, and robust testbenches to ensure correctness across microarchitecture and system-level integration.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in microprocessor verification, incl. cache coherence, memory ordering and consistency, prefetching, branch prediction.
• Familiarity with RIS for block/unit and subsystem/chip validation.
• Knowledge of formal verification, assertions; silicon bring-up a plus.
• Experience writing test plans and developing portable testbenches.
• Creating transactors and working with assembly code.
• Proficiency with verification tools: simulators, coverage, gate-level sim, waveform viewers, formal proof tools.
• Ability to work independently on block/unit-level verification.
• Thorough understanding of microprocessor functions and architectures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CPU and SoC architects to translate system requirements into verification concepts.
• Create detailed test plans and coverage strategies from architecture.
• Develop scalable verification methodologies for various environments.
• Build the verification environment and testbenches for your domain.
• Design verification plans and tests for your functional area.
• Monitor DV progress and report using metrics, bug tracking, and coverage analysis.
