Job summary

Gi Group Holding in Mayo, Republic of Ireland is seeking a Cost Engineer to support the Financial Controller in controlling and reporting project and operational costs across HVAC projects and service contracts.

You will focus on accurate cost tracking, margin analysis, forecasting, and cost-improvement initiatives to drive profitable delivery. The role requires 3+ years cost engineering experience in HVAC/MEP or construction and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ cost engineering/cost control/project accounting experience in HVAC, MEP, construction or building services.
• Strong understanding of project cost structures and margin drivers.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and experience with ERP or job costing systems.

Responsibilities

• Track and analyse project costs against budgets across live projects and service contracts.
• Maintain cost-to-complete (CTC) and cost-to-date reporting with variances and actions.
• Prepare weekly/monthly cost reports and highlight risks.
• Support month-end close related to job costing, accruals and WIP.
• Assist in budgeting and cost code setup; support forecasting and cashflow.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs (gross margin by project, material usage).
