Job summary

Crewit Resourcing is seeking an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to support a major pharmaceutical plant project in Ireland & UK. You will perform mechanical take-offs, quantify pipework, ducting and drainage, and assist in BOQ preparation and cost estimation throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5–10 years of industrial/pharma experience, with strong Excel skills and familiarity with CostX or Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management (or equivalent).
• 5–10 years in industrial/pharmaceutical projects focusing on mechanical works.
• Experience in mechanical take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimation for pipework, ducting, and drainage.
• Proficient reading of P&IDs, AF&IDs, isometrics, and mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of NRMM, POMI, or equivalent construction measurement standards.
• Advanced MS Excel; CostX, Primavera P6 or similar tools is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review mechanical drawings, including P&IDs, AF&IDs, isometrics, pipework, ductwork and drainage systems.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs from mechanical drawings.
• Quantify items not shown on drawings (welds, joints, flanges, pipe supports, fittings).
• Prepare pricing and rate analysis for client submissions.
• Assist in preparing BOQs and commercial documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate measurement and costing.
• Support procurement and tender evaluation with accurate mechanical cost data.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Participate in project progress meetings and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Air Flow & Instrumentation Diagrams (AF&IDs)

• Knowledge of construction measurement standards (NRM, POMI, or equivalent).
