Job description

Managing procurement and cost control activities for large-scale Data Centre projects, including RFP and bid processes, contract administration, and change management, ensuring compliance with client standards and governance. The level of ownership you take on — from supporting a Lead Procurement & Cost Manager to independently managing procurement and cost control across a project — will scale with your experience.

Location

Remote or Hybrid with travel to European client sites as required. Locations include Dublin, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Portugal and the Nordics.

Key Responsibilities
RFP & Bid Management
  • Prepare, issue, and manage Requests for Proposal (RFP) to suppliers and contractors.
  • Collect, organise, and evaluate bid responses; negotiate terms to achieve cost efficiency and quality standards.
Contract Administration & Management
  • Maintain contract templates and ensure accurate documentation; draft and review contracts using client-provided templates as scope grows.
  • Track change orders and maintain records for AE/EoR compliance and sign-off.
  • Apply working knowledge of standard forms of construction contract (e.g., NEC, FIDIC, JCT).
Cost Management & Reporting
  • Support and, with experience, lead cost reporting and budget tracking, including forecasts and actuals.
  • Prepare cost reports, spreadsheets, and dashboards for financial analysis and senior stakeholders.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and help mitigate financial risk.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Schedule meetings and maintain communication between client teams, suppliers, engineering, project management, and AE/EoR firms.
  • Ensure timely submission and approval of technical and financial documents.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2–8 years' experience in procurement coordination, cost control, contract administration, or supply chain roles; experience on large-scale construction or data centre projects is highly advantageous.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and negotiation skills, with contract drafting capability expected to develop with experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement systems (SAP/Oracle); familiarity with cost management platforms (e.g., CostX, CATO) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of data centre infrastructure and compliance standards is a plus.
  • Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in the European Union and be able to provide evidence of their work authorization if requested.
Preferred Certifications
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), Level 3–6 depending on experience.
  • MRICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), held or working towards chartered status.
  • PMP or Prince2 (Foundation through Practitioner) for project management exposure.
Remuneration

Remuneration will be competitive and will be set in line with the successful candidate's level of experience, reflecting current market benchmarks for specialist data centre engineering talent in Europe.

  • Pension contribution
  • Direct mentorship from ZeroOne's founding Directors
  • Structured support toward relevant professional certification (e.g., Chartered Engineer, MRICS, PMP/Prince2, CIPS)
  • Travel and expenses covered for client-site visits across Europe
