Job summary

Barróg Healthcare is seeking a Coordinator to support the Day Service Manager in leading three adult day service centres in Cork and Millstreet. The role ensures safe, high-quality, person-centred supports in line with the HSE New Directions policy and organisational values.

You will lead and supervise staff, oversee operations, deputise for the Manager when required, and drive service improvements while maintaining GDPR-compliant records.

Qualifications

  • A Level 7 qualification (or higher) in Social Care Practice.
  • A management qualification or willingness to undertake one.
  • A minimum of three years' experience supporting adults with disabilities.
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience of person-centred planning and outcome-focused supports.
  • Knowledge of the HSE New Directions framework.
  • Experience of safeguarding, risk management and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Support the effective day-to-day management of each day service.
  • Deputise for the Day Service Manager when required.
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to the Team Leaders and staff, promoting a positive and inclusive working environment.
  • Ensure services are delivered in accordance with the principles of HSE New Directions, placing the individual at the centre of all planning and decision-making.
  • Promote a culture of dignity, respect, equality, inclusion and rights.
  • Supervise and support staff to deliver high-quality services.
  • Assist with recruitment, induction and onboarding of new employees.
  • Conduct regular supervision meetings and contribute to performance management.
  • Identify training needs and encourage continuous professional development.
  • Promote effective teamwork, communication and accountability.
  • Support compliance with HSE standards, organisational policies and relevant legislation.
  • Promote safeguarding best practice and ensure concerns are managed promptly.
  • Monitor incidents, accidents and near misses, ensuring reporting and follow-up.
  • Participate in quality audits, service reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality per GDPR.
  • Assist with rostering and allocation of resources to meet service needs.
  • Monitor attendance, leave and staffing requirements.
  • Ensure the service environment is safe, welcoming and well maintained.
  • Contribute to policy development and service improvements.
  • Develop positive relationships with individuals using the service, families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Represent the service professionally at meetings and external events.

Essential Qualifications/Experience
  • A Level 7 qualification (or higher) in Social Care Practise.
  • A management qualification or willingness to undertake one.
  • A minimum of three years' experience supporting adults with disabilities.
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Experience of person-centred planning and outcome-focused supports.
  • Knowledge of the HSE New Directions framework.

Other Requirements
  • Full clean driving licence and access to transport, where required.
  • Satisfactory Garda Vetting.
