Job summary

Respond! in Waterford is seeking a Cook for a 1-year fixed-term contract. The role is 30 hours per week, Mon-Fri, at The Hub Cafe, Waterford. You will prepare and present food for the cafe and manage kitchen operations under HACCP guidelines.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of similar experience, knowledge of menu planning, portion control, and strong focus on hygiene and waste minimisation. Closing date: Fri 13 Nov 2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
• Experience with menu planning, portion control and food ordering.
• Knowledge and experience of hygiene control (HACCP Procedures).
• Focus on minimising waste and delivering value for money.

Responsibilities

• Requisitioning of all foodstuffs and materials for the kitchen.
• Preparation, cooking and servicing of both raw and cooked food.
• Portioning and packing of both raw and cooked meals.
• Scheduling, rotation and allocation of foodstuffs.
• Kitchen management including hygiene control and safety procedures, including HACCP.
• Reviewing pricing points with People Leader.
• Management of four team members.
• Lodgement of cash to bank on weekly basis.
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
