Job summary

Barden | B Corp, a leading group operating across Ireland and the UK, seeks a qualified accountant for a hands-on controllership role in Dublin. You will own core areas of the financial control framework, oversee close and reporting, and lead finance transformation initiatives with a multi-entity remit.

You will drive controls, balance sheet integrity, audit readiness, and cross-functional collaboration, shaping future-state processes with the transformation programme.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong controllership or financial reporting experience.
• Solid IFRS knowledge, including IFRS 16 and IAS 37.
• Experience in high-volume, multi-entity business, ideally across Ireland and the UK.
• Strong month-end close, reconciliation and balance sheet experience.
• Confident to challenge and own processes and deliver transformation benefits.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close & reporting across ROI and UK entities.
• Oversee balance sheet accounts, including accruals, provisions, fixed assets and leases.
• Review journals and reconciliations, ensuring audit readiness.
• Strengthen internal controls and drive process improvements.
• Act as key contact for internal and external audits.
• Help design future-state processes, controls and reporting during transformation programme.
• Build strong relationships across Finance, Payroll, Procurement, HR and Operations.
• Lead, coach and develop team members.

Barden are delighted to be partnering with a leading, high-growth business operating across Ireland and the UK, part of a large international group, on a key controllership role in Dublin. The business has grown significantly in recent years through organic growth and acquisitions, and has ambitious plans to expand further.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the finance function. You'll own core areas of the financial control framework and balance sheet, make sure the numbers are complete, accurate and well supported, and play a central part in a major finance transformation programme.

Key responsibilities

• Own month-end and year-end close & reporting across ROI and UK entities
• Oversee balance sheet accounts, including accruals, provisions, fixed assets and leases
• Review journals and reconciliations, making sure they're well supported and audit-ready
• Strengthen internal controls, tackle recurring issues at the root, and drive lasting process improvements
• Act as a key contact for internal and external audit
• Help design future-state processes, controls and reporting as accounting lead on the transformation programme
• Build strong relationships across Finance, Payroll, Procurement, HR and Operations
• Lead, coach and develop team members
