Job description

Our Client

Our client is a large, well-established, privately held business with significant operations across Ireland, the UK and international markets. The company has a substantial market presence and operates a complex, multi-jurisdictional

finance function.

Why should you apply?

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a large, privately held international business in a senior finance leadership position. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations of the Group, with significant exposure to senior leadership and commercial decision-making.

The role offers an attractive combination of hands-on financial leadership, international exposure and the opportunity to drive improvements across financial reporting, controls and processes. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real impact within an established organisation.

Who should apply?

Our client is looking to meet with experienced Financial Controllers or Senior Finance Managers who have operated in large, complex organisations. The successful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership position, ideally within a regulated or multi-jurisdictional business.
  • Strong technical accounting background, including financial reporting, consolidations, IFRS, statutory compliance and financial controls.
  • Experience managing and developing finance teams, with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Commercially minded, hands-on and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. Experience with ERP systems, ideally Oracle Fusion, would be beneficial.
Role and Reporting Lines

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead the Group's financial operations across multiple business units and jurisdictions. This is a broad leadership position combining financial reporting, operational finance, governance and commercial business partnering.

  • Financial Reporting – Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Group consolidations.
  • Finance Operations – Lead the day-to-day finance function, including general ledger, accounts payable, treasury and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Financial Controls – Develop and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance across the Group.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury – Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimisation and treasury activities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Compliance & Audit – Manage statutory reporting, tax compliance and internal and external audit processes across Ireland, the UK and other jurisdictions.
  • Commercial Business Partnering – Work closely with the Finance Director and senior stakeholders, providing financial analysis, performance insights and KPI reporting to support commercial decisions.
  • Team Leadership – Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, promoting accountability, collaboration and high performance.
  • Process Improvement – Drive efficiencies across financial systems, reporting processes and controls, identifying opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
