Job summary

BAM is recruiting for a Contracts Manager to join our building team in Sandymount, Ireland. You will lead procurement activities, manage project budgets, and ensure delivery to client requirements while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
• 3–5 years procurement, sourcing, or buying experience in construction is preferred.
• Experience with strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations is expected.
• Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for procurement and site commercial decisions.
• Lead the Project Execution Plan, budgeting, and risk mitigation.
• Manage daily site operations and liaise with planning and development teams.

• We are currently recruiting for the position of a Contracts Manager to join a our building team in Sandymount.
• Overall responsibility for the Management of one of the large-scale sites reporting directly to the Construction Director.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall delivery of the project, managing a large staff and ensuring that the client’s requirements are met whilst maintaining the highest Safety, Quality and environmental standards.
• The project must be delivered with a focus on sustainability. From design through delivery.
• The ability to communicate effectively with both client and design team.
• Be the main Point of contact for the client with responsibility for engaging with the client in conjunction with the commercial manager on site commercial decisions.
• Provide leadership to the project construction team to ensure works are carried out to the required quality, Health & Safety, and environmental standards, in full compliance with the Planning Permission.
• Preparation of the Project Execution Plan including Contracting Strategy, Programme, budget, and risks mitigation plan.
• Responsible for managing the daily operation of the site.
• Management of the Project Budget and Contract Administration in conjunction with the Project Quantity Surveyor.
• Liaison with Planning/Development Team to ensure project value-engineered during the Pre-Construction Stage.
• Management of the Project Design Team during construction to ensure coordination ofinformation flow to the site teams.
• Coordination of key project stakeholders including statutory authorities and liaison with JV Project partners if necessary.
• Implementation of best practice in project controls, performance management, and Project Reporting.

What’s in it for you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, iipmm, or equivalent) are a plus.
• Ideally 3-5 years of procurement, sourcing, or buying experience in the construction industry is preferred, but not essential.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier negotiations is required.
• Proficiency in procurement software or ERP systems (e.g., Coins or SAP).
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with e-procurement platforms and online tendering processes.
