Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is looking for a Planner to join their Building Team in Carlow. You'll have the chance to work on large construction projects, develop your skills, and shape your career. The role requires a relevant degree and at least 2 years of planning experience.

Making Possible
  • Project planning using Primavera P6, MS Project or Asta.
  • Project progress measuring & monitoring.
  • Project progress reporting.
  • Coordinate schedules with site management, design teams & contractors.
  • Understand & maintain the contract programme.
  • Subcontractor progress monitoring.
  • Develop & monitor KPIs.
  • Measure quantities from drawings to generate progress reports.
  • Assist with integration of programmes into BIM models (4d planning).
  • Provide strategic advice for safeguarding and growth and development.
  • Work as part of a team, including through the flexible allocation of work as it arises.
What do you bring to the role?
  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Ideal candidate will have 2+ years previous planning experience.
  • Proven experience in a planning role in the building construction industry (main contractor experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and lead times.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to take a multi-disciplined approach to building projects.
  • Technical orientation and fully conversant in drawings, specs, BOQs, critical path programming, network analysis.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a fully integrated team is essential.
  • Detail oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Proactive and solution focused approach.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland and fluent English.
