Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a well-established structural steel contractor in County Monaghan to hire a Contracts Manager. You will oversee delivery from contract to final accounts, leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years’ structural steel site experience, strong communication, and risk/ programme management skills. Salary ranges €80,000–€100,000 plus company van and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' site experience within structural steel.
• Experience in Contracts Management, ideally with a steelwork fabricator
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising site foremen, steel erectors, and subcontractors
• Overseeing subcontractor selection, performance, and on-site progress
• Ensuring strict compliance with quality, health & safety, and environmental standards
• Monitoring project progress and keeping senior management updated on programme and commercial matters
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating contractual and commercial risks
• Maintaining accurate project records relating to labour, plant, materials, and resources
• Managing variations, delays, and additional works in line with contract requirements
• Supporting the preparation of project final accounts
• Attending project meetings and resolving technical, commercial, and operational issues
• Ensuring all project documentation is maintained accurately and efficiently

Contracts Manager - Structural Steel

Location: Monaghan, Ireland
Salary: €80,000 - €100,000 DOE + Company Van + Benefits
Contract: Permanent, Full Time

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to join the management team of a well-established and highly respected structural steel contractor based in County Monaghan.

With over 40 years' experience delivering structural steel projects across Ireland and the UK, this business has built an excellent reputation for quality, technical expertise, and delivering complex projects across the industrial and commercial sectors.

This role would suit an experienced Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager with a strong structural steel background, looking to take ownership of major projects and play a key role within an established business.

The Opportunity

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of structural steel projects from a contractual, commercial, quality, and programme perspective.

You will manage site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising site foremen, steel erectors, and subcontractors
• Overseeing subcontractor selection, performance, and on-site progress
• Ensuring strict compliance with quality, health & safety, and environmental standards
• Monitoring project progress and keeping senior management updated on programme and commercial matters

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum of 3 years' site experience within structural steel
• Previous experience in Contracts Management, ideally with a steelwork fabricator
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Experience managing projects within industrial and commercial sectors, including high-rise projects
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage internal teams, clients, and subcontractors
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage contractual risks and project costs
• Ability to work effectively under time, quality, and budget pressures
• Knowledge of ISO standards and CE Marking requirements would be advantageous
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Knowledge of software such as StruMIS, AutoCAD, Trimble Connect, or Tekla would be beneficial.
