Engage Construction is seeking a Construction Site Engineer to oversee daily on-site activities in Cork, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification. You will set out works, supervise construction, and liaise with contractors and suppliers.

You will set out with Total Station and GPS, monitor quality, review drawings and specifications, report progress, and resolve technical issues on site. The role supports planning, scheduling and health and safety compliance.

Formación

Role Description

The Construction Site Engineer will oversee daily on-site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification. This full-time, on-site role based in Cork includes setting out proposed works, supervising construction works, coordinating with project management staff, and liaising with contractors and suppliers. The role involves setting out with Total Station and GPS units, monitoring quality control, checking drawings and specifications, reporting progress, and resolving technical issues on site. The Site Engineer will also support planning and scheduling, enforce health and safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in project delivery.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong on-site experience in construction environments, with the ability to manage daily site operations.
• Candidates should possess experience of Setting Out & Surveying construction works with Total Station and GPS units, along with proficiency in AutoCAD software to derive setting out data and also to record as built data.
• Candidates should possess effective communication skills for coordinating with project teams, contractors, and clients, and for preparing clear reports and documentation.
• Candidates should possess quality control skills, including the ability to review drawings, monitor work standards, and ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Candidates should possess structural engineering or civil engineering skills, with a degree or relevant qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a closely related discipline).
• Candidates should possess proficiency in reading technical drawings, using basic construction software tools, and applying health and safety best practices.
• Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience as a Site Engineer or in a similar construction engineering role is highly beneficial; experience with projects in constrained or complex environments is an advantage.
