Job summary

Elite Talent Hub is seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager for a high-profile Westport House development in Co. Mayo, Ireland.

You will oversee quality assurance and QC, coordinating with the Project Manager, site teams and subcontractors to deliver works to exacting standards. The role requires a degree in civil engineering or building discipline and a minimum of five years in construction QA/QC, with strong knowledge of ITPs, NCRs and Irish regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in construction QA/QC or site engineering.
• Experience with an Irish main contractor on significant projects.
• Strong understanding of QA/QC systems, ITPs, NCRs and inspections.
• Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR and ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement the Project Quality Management Plan and ensure compliance with drawings and specs.
• Develop, maintain and oversee ITPs across construction activities.
• Conduct regular site inspections of workmanship and materials.
• Manage NCRs, corrective actions and quality improvements.
• Coordinate quality inspections and sign-offs with subcontractors and project team.
• Ensure BCAR and ISO 9001 compliance across the project.
• Oversee quality across structural, building fabric, finishes and M&E installations.
• Liaise with architects, engineers and Assigned Certifiers on quality matters.
• Maintain quality documentation, test certificates and compliance reports.
• Manage snagging and handover documentation to project completion.

Job description

My client, an established Irish main contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager to oversee quality assurance and quality control on the prestigious Westport House development in Co. Mayo.

This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for quality management on a high-profile construction project, ensuring works are delivered to the highest standards of workmanship, compliance and project specifications.

Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Management, Engineers and subcontractors, the successful candidate will oversee all project-level quality activities from construction through to final handover.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and implement the project Quality Management Plan, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications and building regulations.

Develop, maintain and oversee Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) across construction activities.

Conduct regular site inspections, monitoring workmanship, materials and construction quality.

Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions and quality improvement processes.

Coordinate quality inspections and sign-offs with subcontractors, consultants and the project team.

Ensure compliance with BCAR requirements, ISO 9001 principles and relevant construction standards.

Oversee quality across structural works, building fabric, architectural finishes and M&E installations.

Liaise with architects, engineers, Assigned Certifiers and specialist contractors on technical and quality matters.

Maintain quality documentation, inspection records, test certificates and compliance reports.

Manage snagging, defect resolution and quality documentation through to project completion and handover.

Experience & Qualifications

Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years' experience in construction, with a strong background in quality management, QA/QC or site engineering.

Previous experience working with an Irish main contractor on significant construction projects.

Strong understanding of construction quality systems, ITPs, NCRs, inspections and testing procedures.

Good knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR compliance and ISO 9001 quality standards.

Ability to interpret architectural, structural and M&E drawings and specifications.

Experience managing subcontractor quality, construction inspections and project handover documentation.

Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience on heritage, hospitality, refurbishment or specialist construction projects would be advantageous.
