Job summary

Comeragh Machinery & Auto Repairs is offering a Construction Plant Fitter Apprenticeship in Ireland. This role provides hands-on training while you learn to service, maintain and repair forklifts and other vehicles.

You will complete a 4-year programme with on- and off-the-job training, including travel to designated SOLAS Centres. Full drivers license or learners permit is required, and prior experience is not essential.

First Year Apprentice VacancyAre you interested in mechanical repairs and looking to start a career in a skilled trade? Comeragh Machinery & Auto Repairs is looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Mechanic to join our team and complete the recognised SOLAS Construction Plant Fitting Apprenticeship.

The Role

You’ll receive hands-on training while learning to:

• Service, maintain and repair forklifts and material handling equipment
• Carry out servicing and repairs on cars and light commercial vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Use modern workshop tools and diagnostic equipment
• Work safely and to a high standard

Who We're Looking For

• We’re looking for someone who is practical, reliable and keen to learn.
• An interest in cars, machinery or mechanics is important, but previous experience isn’t essential.
• Applicants must meet the relevant SOLAS apprenticeship entry requirements.
• Applicant must hold either a full drivers licence or learners permit.
• Commitment to a 4-year programme that involves both on and off-the-job training which will require travel to designated Solas Centres.
