Job summary

MMD Construction are launching a 2027 Graduate Programme for aspiring Construction Managers in Ireland. As a Graduate Construction Manager at MMD Construction, you will join active projects from day one, gaining hands-on experience in planning, coordination, and on-site leadership.

This programme focuses on developing leadership, project delivery skills, and health and safety knowledge through mentorship, training, and exposure to diverse residential construction projects across Cork.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management or working towards it.
  • Ability to use initiative and be self-motivated.
  • Interest in residential property is desirable.
  • Teamwork is essential.
  • Willingness to learn and develop career.
  • Good IT skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Coordination: liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the workforce to align plans, materials, and timelines.
  • Site Management: support projects under mentor guidance, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to keep delivery on track.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: ensure activities comply with regulations.
  • Quality Assurance: work with senior managers to maintain high-quality standards on-site and monitor across project phases.
  • Problem-Solving: address on-site challenges, adjust plans as needed to meet goals.
  • Documentation: keep accurate project records including progress reports, budgets, and safety audits.
  • Learning Outcomes: gain real-world site and team leadership experience and develop project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination:

  • You will be liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
  • Be at the forefront of projects, assisting in planning, scheduling, and making real-time decisions that drive progress. You will ensure that teams, materials, and timelines are all aligned to deliver successful outcomes.

Site Management:

  • Take responsibility for certain projects or parts of projects, under the guidance of your mentor.
  • Support daily activities while coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and other team members to keep the project on track. Your leadership will directly impact the smooth and efficient delivery of construction phases.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Quality Assurance:

  • Work alongside senior managers to maintain top-tier quality on-site, ensuring all work meets our high standards. You will have the chance to implement the latest tools and technologies that keep quality at the forefront of our builds.
  • Monitor and maintain quality standards across all phases of the project.
  • Data management

Problem-Solving:

  • Anticipate, identify, and tackle on-site challenges as they arise. Whether it's adjusting plans to overcome unforeseen hurdles or finding innovative solutions to meet project goals, you will be central to keeping the project on course.

Documentation:

  • Assist with keeping accurate records of all project-related documents, including progress reports, budgets, and health and safety audits.
  • Reporting on progress and cost

Learning Outcomes:
