Job summary

Ascend Project Management is seeking an experienced Construction Logistics Lead to manage the movement of people, materials, equipment and deliveries on a major biopharmaceutical project in County Dublin, Ireland. The role sits within the site-based project delivery team and focuses on developing and implementing an integrated logistics approach across a high-activity construction site.

Qualifications

  • At least seven years’ construction logistics or site-operations experience on major capital projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex logistics across a high-headcount, multi-contractor site.
  • Strong knowledge of delivery management, traffic control, laydown planning, material movement and work-front access.
  • Experience coordinating heavy or critical equipment deliveries and their interfaces with lifting and installation activities.
  • Strong contractor-management, planning and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction programmes and anticipate future site-access and material-flow requirements.
  • A solid understanding of construction EHS requirements and pedestrian or vehicle segregation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and continuously update the project construction logistics plan.
  • Coordinate site access, delivery booking, vehicle movements, traffic routes and entry or exit controls.
  • Manage laydown areas, storage zones, unloading areas, consolidation points and material-distribution routes.
  • Coordinate the movement of construction materials and equipment to planned work fronts.
  • Work with contractors to forecast deliveries and align logistics requirements with weekly and short-term construction plans.
  • Coordinate interfaces between logistics, lifting operations, scaffolding, temporary works and construction activities.
  • Maintain effective segregation of pedestrians, site vehicles and mobile plant.
  • Plan major deliveries, abnormal loads and critical equipment movements in conjunction with the relevant package teams.
  • Support crane, hoist and loading-bay planning where these activities interface with the overall logistics strategy.
  • Coordinate temporary roads, access routes, welfare facilities, compounds, fencing and other logistics infrastructure as required.
  • Identify congestion, access or storage constraints that could affect programme delivery and implement practical solutions.
  • Manage shared work areas and resolve competing access or delivery requirements between contractors.
  • Ensure logistics activities comply with the project’s EHS procedures and agreed traffic-management controls.
  • Maintain logistics maps, delivery schedules and clear reporting of risks, constraints and actions.

Job Description: Construction Logistics Lead

We are seeking an experienced Construction Logistics Lead to manage the movement of people, materials, equipment and deliveries across a major biopharmaceutical construction project in County Dublin.

The successful candidate will join the site-based project delivery team and take responsibility for developing and implementing an integrated logistics approach across a high-activity construction environment. The role will involve close coordination with construction management, EHS, security, lifting teams, contractors and client stakeholders to protect safety, access and productivity across the site.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Experience on pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, semiconductor, data-centre or other complex industrial projects would be advantageous.
Contract Information
  • Rate: TBC dependent on level of skills and expertise.
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Length of Contract: 12 months contract with possible extension.
  • Schedule: 4-5 days per week on site.
  • Eligibility: Candidates must hold an Irish/EU passport or a valid Stamp 1G or Stamp 4 permission enabling them to work in Ireland
