Job summary

BHA Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Officer to lead our health and safety efforts across all operations in Ireland.

You will develop policies, train staff, conduct risk assessments, manage compliance with legislation, and oversee ISO 45001 certification. If you are proactive with strong communication and analytical skills, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as Health and Safety Officer, preferably in construction.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Independent and proactive in safety improvements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure staff are trained and aware of responsibilities for health and safety.
• Monitor and report safety performance; identify improvements and take corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management strategies.
• Monitor compliance with legislation and advise management.
• Oversee ISO 45001 implementation and certification.
• Stay up-to-date with health and safety changes and best practices.
• Assist investigations into accidents and near misses and recommend actions.
• Prepare and present regular safety performance reports to senior management.
