Job summary

Falcon Green is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to lead one of its large civil engineering sites in Ireland. You will oversee delivery from start to finish, manage a sizable on-site team, and ensure client satisfaction while upholding safety, quality and environmental standards.

You will collaborate with the design team, engage with the client on commercial decisions, and drive sustainability across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or relevant site based construction experience.
• 5+ years in a similar position in Ireland or the UK.
• Able to deliver large-scale civils projects from start to finish.
• Strong CV with long stints in previous roles.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the management of a large site, reporting to the Construction Director.
• Deliver project on time, manage a large staff, meet client requirements with high safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Focus on sustainability from design through delivery and communicate effectively with client and design team.
• Main client contact with on-site commercial decisions alongside the commercial manager.
• Lead the project construction team to ensure quality, safety and environmental compliance, in line with planning permissions.
• Prepare the Project Execution Plan including contracting strategy, programme, budget and risk mitigation.
• Manage daily site operations and coordinate with Project Quantity Surveyor for budget and contract administration.
• Liaise with Planning/Development Team to value-engineer during Pre-Construction; coordinate with statutory authorities and JV partners if needed.

Job description

One of Irelands leading civil engineering contractors with a healthy pipeline of work in the South Easy require a senior level contracts manager to deliver a number of projects within the region.

Ideal candidates will be capable of managing multiple civil engineering projects simultaneously as a contracts manager, and have civil engineering experience in Ireland or the UK.

Duties:

• Overall responsibility for the Management of one of the large-scale sites reporting directly to the Construction Director.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall delivery of the project, managing a large staff and ensuring that the client’s requirements are met whilst maintaining the highest Safety, Quality and environmental standards.
• The project must be delivered with a focus on sustainability. From design through delivery.
• The ability to communicate effectively with both client and design team.
• Be the main Point of contact for the client with responsibility for engaging with the client in conjunction with the commercial manager on site commercial decisions.
• Provide leadership to the project construction team to ensure works are carried out to the required quality, Health & Safety, and environmental standards, in full compliance with the Planning Permission.
• Preparation of the Project Execution Plan including Contracting Strategy, Programme, budget, and risks mitigation plan.
• Responsible for managing the daily operation of the site.
• Management of the Project Budget and Contract Administration in conjunction with the Project Quantity Surveyor.
• Liaison with Planning/Development Team to ensure project value-engineered during the Pre-Construction Stage.
• Coordination of key project stakeholders including statutory authorities and liaison with JV Project partners if necessary.

Requirements:

• Degree in civil engineering, construction management or relevant site based construction exp built up along with trades background
• 5+ years in a similar position in Ireland or the UK
• Ability to deliver large scale civils projects from start to finish
