P & L Carpentry Limited, based in Trim, Co. Meath, is seeking CNC Operatives for immediate start. You will set up, operate, and maintain CNC machinery for cardboard/box production, reading drawings and CAM data to ensure quality and efficiency.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ CNC experience in packaging or manufacturing; a CNC qualification is a plus. 39-hour week; €36,605 annual remuneration and €18.05 per hour.

Job Description

Our client P & L Carpentry Limited, based in Trim, Co. Meath, is currently seeking Computer Numerical Control Operatives for immediate start for their facility in Trim, Co. Meath. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for setting up, operating, and maintaining computer numerical control (CNC) machinery used in the manufacture of cardboard/packaging boxes.
  • Ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards while meeting customer specifications and deadlines.
  • Set up and operate CNC cutting, routing, and creasing machines used in box production.
  • Interpret technical drawings, CAD files, and job specifications.
  • Input, adjust, and monitor machine programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Carry out tool changes, calibrations, and minor machine adjustments as required.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and resolve basic mechanical or programming issues.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Ensure efficient material usage and minimise waste.
  • Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with 5S standards.
  • Work collaboratively with design, maintenance, and production teams to meet targets.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years’ previous experience operating CNC machinery (within packaging, woodworking, or manufacturing).
  • Relevant CNC qualification is a plus but is not required
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Basic understanding of CNC programming and G-code.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Experience in cardboard/box manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of CAD software.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills.
  • Ability to consult technical resources, to ensure equipment availability and to monitor automated machines
  • Competency to operate precision measuring equipment, perform machine maintenance and perform test runs
  • Removal of processed workpieces, set up the machine controller and supply the machine with appropriate tools
  • Experience in programming CNC controllers, reading standard blueprints and removing inadequate work pieces
  • Experience in using CAM software, troubleshooting and using automatic programming
