Job summary

Mm Fiber Packaging Ireland Limited is seeking two CNC Operatives to set up, operate, and monitor CNC machinery to meet production specs, ensuring quality, accuracy, and safety aligned with schedules.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, loading CNC programs, performing in-process inspections, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. The role requires technical qualifications, attention to detail, and the ability to work shifts.

Qualifications

  • A relevant technical or vocational qualification in engineering, manufacturing or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications.
  • Competence using measuring and inspection instruments and working to specified tolerances.
  • Working knowledge of CNC control systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability and the ability to work shift patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machinery in accordance with job specifications, drawings and production schedules.
  • Load, select and run the correct CNC programme for each job, and adjust machine settings and parameters as required.
  • Load materials and components and monitor production cycles from start to finish.
  • Carry out in-process quality checks using appropriate measuring and inspection instruments, verifying output against specifications and tolerances.
  • Make minor programme and setting adjustments to maintain quality and correct deviations during production runs.
  • Perform tool or consumable changes and routine first-line maintenance, and report machine faults to the maintenance team.
  • Interpret drawings, work instructions and technical specifications.
  • Record production data, downtime, waste and non-conformances in the plant reporting system.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and safe work area and comply with all health and safety procedures, machine guarding and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency and safety within the production process.
