Job summary

Castle Gardens Nursing Home is seeking a reliable Kitchen Assistant to join the catering team. You will assist in the preparation and service of meals and beverages for residents, visitors and staff, while maintaining hygiene and economy standards.

Main duties include preparing resident trays and dining areas, ensuring equipment and food are available on time, and keeping kitchen and catering utensils clean.

Qualifications

• Experience working in kitchen or catering environments.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Reliable, able to follow schedules and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and service of meals and beverages for residents, visitors and staff to hygiene and economy standards.
• Prepare resident trays and dining areas ensuring equipment, utensils and food are available on time.
• Clear and clean kitchen, dining areas and catering utensils using appropriate cleaning techniques.
• Advise residents on menu choices to provide maximum variety.
• Assist with record keeping as directed by Catering Manager/Cook.
