Job summary

Irish HomeCare is seeking qualified Healthcare Assistants to join our team in Laois. You will provide home-based care to clients in their own homes, assisting with daily living, grooming, mobility, meals, and social support as outlined in each client's Care Plan.

The role requires Level 5 QQI Health/Social Care, driving licence and English proficiency; 39 hours per week; salary €32,691 per annum. Applications to [e-mail] by 10th Aug 2026.

Qualifications

• A major award in Health or Social Care or equivalent (QQI Level 5)
• Previous care or healthcare experience
• Understanding of geriatric health and mobility issues
• Strong verbal communication skills and good command of spoken and written English
• Full Irish Driving Licence and access to a vehicle

Responsibilities

• Provide personal, non-medical care and assistance to clients in their own homes
• Assist with clients’ physical, nutritional and social needs as laid out in their Care Plan.
• These duties may include providing personal care (e.g., washing, dressing, assisting with continence care), mobilising, assistance with feeding, meal preparation, light housekeeping, etc.
