Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) in Kilkenny is seeking committed Healthcare Assistants (Personal Assistants) to join our team on a part-time basis, delivering care to Members in their homes and communities. The role focuses on enabling maximum independence in daily living, with duties across personal care, domestic tasks, and social support.

We offer pay scales from €16.54 to €18.39 per hour (higher rates before 8am/after 8pm, Sundays, and public holidays), plus mileage, sick pay,

Qualifications

• Full Major Award at QQI Level 5 in Community Health Services, Health Service Skills or Healthcare Support (essential).
• Experience of working with people in a caring role (essential).
• Be reliable, trustworthy, and maintain confidentiality.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills with a good level of spoken and written English.
• Access to your own car and full driving licence (essential).
• Willing to drive member's vehicle (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Enable Members to achieve maximum independence in daily living by providing assistance in personal care, domestic, social and educational activities.
• Support Members in travel and companionship within homes and communities.
• Liaise with ALS Coordinator / Scheduling staff to coordinate care.
