Job summary

The Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) is seeking Healthcare Assistants (Personal Assistants) in Summerhill, Enfield and Trim, Meath. The role supports Members to achieve maximum independence in daily living with personal care, domestic help, and companionship in homes and communities.

The position is part-time (20 hours weekly) with availability Monday to Friday 8am–2pm. Training, mileage, sick pay, parental leave benefits, and pension options are offered. Driving may be required.

Qualifications

• Full QQI Level 5 in Community & Health Services or Healthcare Support, or equivalent.
• Experience in caring role is essential.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Full driving licence with access to own vehicle.
• Willing to drive service user’s vehicle (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist Members with personal care, domestic tasks, social and educational activities, and travel/companionship.
• Deliver care in Members’ homes and communities.
• Coordinate with Home carers and scheduling staff to ensure smooth care delivery.
