Job summary

Nazareth Care Ireland in Dublin (D03KW08) offers a 39-hour week at €16.12 per hour, based at our Dublin location. You will deliver high-quality care to residents, assist with intimate personal care, meals, mobility, and activities, while promoting a normal diet and maintaining infection control.

This role requires FETAC Level 5 or equivalent, prior elder care experience, teamwork, effective communication, and a person-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Have FETAC Level 5 and/or other relevant training.
• Experience of caring for the elderly, preferably in a residential setting.
• Adopt a person-centered approach to care planning.
• Experience working with others in a team setting.
• Proven commitment to continuing professional development.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Genuine interest in caring for older people.
• Be proficient in Manual Handling and Patient Moving Skills.

Responsibilities

• To deliver quality care to each resident.
• To assist residents with intimate and personal care, based on assessed needs.
• Assist residents with eating and drinking where appropriate.
• Promote and encourage a normal nutritional diet.
• Assist residents with mobilizing and with diversional therapy activities.
• Report any changes in residents’ condition to senior nurse on duty.
• Ensure safe practices and infection control, with policies understood.
• Document required records during duty and maintain pantry cleanliness.
